Avebury (2024)
Gemstone, acrylic & emulsion on engraved wood.
Avebury was a place of intersecting energies, like flowing lines that converged in rhythm. At times, I heard a high-pitched whistle in certain parts of the circle, which added to the sense of energy in motion. I spent three days there, starting at Swallowhead Spring, walking the Michael and Mary lines. In the centre of the moon and sun circles, I felt compelled to sing, as if the intersection of these lines created a sensual, sexual, rhythmic pulse. The whole experience felt very beautiful, almost like a dance of energy—playful, flowing, and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature.
